Group Photographic Critiques
"Let’s put the spotlight where it SHINES the brightest “
"The trouble with most of us is that we'd rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.” – Norman Vincent Peale
“One of the most beneficial activities I have partaken in my time as a photographer and something I encourage everyone to do is seek critique of your work. It’s a great way to learn about your own work from others and develop your craft with intention.” (Dylan Goldby-Fstoppers)
Our photography club holds a photographic “Social and Critique” on a monthly basis. The subject matter is usually abstract, landscape, or flora & fauna in nature, but everyone walks away somewhat enlightened and inspired.
As a professional photographer, I yearn for going over images generally found in the genres of the “Professional Photographer.” This is why we are now also conducting group critiques for the professional or aspiring professional photographer!
These Critiques will be geared toward these genres:
~ Portrait
~ Fashion
~ Pet
~ Lifestyle
~ Commercial
~ Wedding
~ Event
~ Product
Group Photo Critique
2-3 images ONLY $15.00
3 (three) attendees minimum and 10 (ten) attendees maximum.

A good assessment from a great photographer on the subject would be from Rick Ohnsman:
“I am not suggesting that you need to get a negative review or harsh criticism of your images to learn anything from a critique. What you should seek however is an honest assessment and “constructive criticism” from someone who is knowledgeable about photography, knows more than you do, and has your best interests at heart.”

Most photographers like to share their photos with the general public, but not many like to hear what other people really of their photos. Getting a ‘heart’ on Instagram or a ‘thumbs up’ on Facebook is great, but we see that on some really terrible photos too! Let’s also not even think about what MOM says! With all the comments we receive, either positive or negative, you also have to consider the source and motives.
The big question is do they help you grow as a photographer?
Some photographers are rushed to get their images posted FAST and miss some obvious errors, but once it’s out there is too late.
What is that saying? “You don’t have a second chance to make a First Impression”
Our Critiques are designed to build you up not to tear you down, to help you grow and improve. Group critiques are not only helpful to you by going over your images, but as you share the same experience with others, you will learn from each other’s works too.
I enjoy offering these opportunities to encourage others to grow and it helps me grow as well!
